Auf mir steht die wundervolle Bedeutung der Grußformel „Namasté“. Dadurch begrüßen wir zusammen die Menschen, denen wir begegnen, mit dieser schönen Botschaft.
Das bin ich:

•Alle Einnahmen von meinem Verkauf gehen an die gemeinnützige Nicht-Regierungsorganisation ABED* in Benin

Warum?
In vielen Ländern dieser Welt nimmt das Phänomen des „Land Grabbing“ bedrohliche Ausmaße an. Investoren mit viel Geld sind auf der Suche nach Profit und kaufen riesige Flächen von fruchtbarem Ackerland auf. Diese finden sie meistens in Ländern, in denen Armut und Hunger noch immer die zentralen Herausforderungen sind. Die Investoren betreiben Spekulation oder wollen Lebensmittel für den Weltmarkt (also für andere Länder) produzieren.
Die Einwohner der betroffenen Länder leben in schwierigen Umständen und verfügen nicht über die nötigen Ressourcen um ihr Land rentabel zu bestellen und sehen sich oft in der Not gezwungen ihr Land zu verkaufen.
Multinationale Konzerne und reiche Individuen nutzen diese Umstände und kaufen riesige Flächen von 1000 bis 5000 Hektar zu Spottpreisen auf (1 ha = 10.000 m²; 100 ha = 1 km²).
Wo?
In Benin (Westafrika) ist die Situation besonders dramatisch. In manchen Gemeinden sind schon über 50% der Ländereien an Großinvestoren verkauft. Durch die hohe Nachfrage steigen auch die Preise drastisch an und die jungen Menschen in Benin (oft gut ausgebildet, sehr hohe Arbeitslosenquote) können nicht mehr in eine nachhaltige Landwirtschaft investieren, um ihre Bevölkerung ausreichend zu ernähren. Dadurch wird, unserer Meinung nach, das Grundrecht auf eine eigenständige Ernährung der Menschen verletzt.
Was bewirkst Du mit dieser Kampagne?
Du unterstützt die gemeinnützige Nicht-Regierungsorganisation ABED* aus Benin. ABED* versucht dem „Land Grabbing“ entgegenzuwirken und bildet junge Menschen in nachhaltiger und ökologischer Landwirtschaft aus.
Die Organisation konnte durch unsere Unterstützung bereits ein Stück Land von 16.000 m2 für den Aufbau eines Ausbildungszentrum kaufen!!! So wichtig bist DU.
Die Organisation ABED* führt weiterhin Bildungsprogramme im Umweltschutz für junge Menschen durch.
Zurzeit werden ca. 900 Kinder, Jugendliche und Studenten regelmäßig begleitet. Es werden gemeinsam Bäume gepflanzt, Müllvermeidung, -recycling oder -trennung erklärt und Umweltverschmutzung verhindert (vor allem durch nicht entsorgte Batterien).
ABED* will den jungen Menschen aber vor allem die Perspektive bieten, ihr eigenes Land in der Zukunft nachhaltig und eigenständig zu gestalten.

Why?
Many countries of the world are hit by the land grabbing phenomenon, the large-scale acquisition of land by buying or leasing large pieces of fertile farmland in countries, where poverty and hunger still are a major challenge to combat, generally acquired by investors such as international companies and wealthy individuals.
The inhabitants living in those developing countries often face difficult living circumstances and don’t have the necessary resources to farm their land profitably.
Multinational firms and rich individuals profit from those circumstances and buy land on a large scale ( 1000 to 5000 hectars) for low prices (1 ha= 10.000 sq m; 100 ha= 1 sq km)
Where?
The situation is alarming, especially in Benin (West Africa). In some communities more than 50% of land has already been sold to big investors. Due to a growing demand the price for land has also drastically risen and young people in Benin (often high educated but high unemployment rate) are not able to invest in sustainable agriculture to provide food for their own population. It is a fact, that the fundamental right to an independent food supply for the own population has therefore been violated.
What can you achieve by joining this campaign?
You will support the non-profit NGO ABED in Benin. One major goal of ABED is to counteract the “land grabbing” process and to train young people in sustainable and ecological farming. The NGO is constructing a training center in Benin and offers education programs on environmental issues and protection.
At present ABED teaches about 900 children, teenagers and students. They plant trees together, learn how to reduce, sort and recycle waste and are being taught how to prevent pollution (especially through the devastating effects of non-disposed batteries).
Moreover, ABED wishes to help those young people to create their future in their own country on an independent and sustainable base.
Use your potential and support the change for a far more righteous world. It’s up to all of us!
